There are great after-school programs, great basic needs providers, and great mentoring programs. Core Academy is all three.
To ensure we have the community support needed to achieve our mission to strengthen character, build brilliant minds and create brighter futures for our community’s most under-resourced youth, we are committed to operating with the utmost integrity and transparency; meeting the highest ethical and legal standards; and following best business and fundraising practices.
We expect the students we serve (“Scholars”) to demonstrate exemplary character, effort, and achievement, so we cannot ask anything less of ourselves.
We seek to set a good example for our Scholars by striving for excellence in the areas of public trust, ethical conduct, and professionalism:
We are a tax-exempt public charity in good standing under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
We are governed by an active Board of Trustees comprised of upstanding community members who assume responsibility for the effective governance over the policies and financial resources of our organization.
We follow locally adopted codes of ethics for volunteers and staff that include provisions for ethical management, publicity, fundraising practices and full and fair disclosure.
We are in the process of creating policies and procedures that will safeguard our values of diversity, inclusiveness and acceptance.
We undergo annual financial audits conducted by independent certified public accountants whose examination complies with generally accepted auditing standards.
As a data- and results-oriented organization, we can and do provide both qualitative and quantitative reports to our constituents on a regular basis. We invite anyone who is interested in our work to a site visit so they can see, firsthand, the impact we are making in the lives of the students we serve.
